Resume & Bio
My name is Alex and I am an ex-farm kid from rural Lancaster County Pennsylvania. While I may not be your typical artist archetype, to adapt Chef Gusteau's motto, anyone can be an artist, if only because an artist can come from anywhere.
I have always loved to draw, and have spent the majority of my school-life trying to figure out what to do about that. While the solution in middle school was to draw under the desk in math class so as to avoid detention, the solution now is to study and learn the craft of a story artist. As a jack-of-all-trades on the farm, I am more than confident in becoming a jack-of-all-trades in the animation field as a story artist is required to be.
In the days since middle school, all through high school and college, and in the four years since, my growing love of illustration and storytelling has taken me through studying Graphic Design, Web Design, Illustration, Sequential art, Writing, Cinematography, and now Storyboarding. In all of those pursuits there has been nothing as satisfying as bringing a sequence to life from the inception of the idea, through the conception stage, all the way through to the long hours of realizing a storyboarded sequence. For me, it is a uniquely satisfying thing to accomplish, and I plan to do so far into the future.
